Open Call for IIAS - NLI Individual Fellowship 2028-2029

Call Details

The National Library of Israel (NLI) and the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS) offer a joint fellowship for established scholars with tenured positions at academic or research institutions outside Israel.

The fellowship supports research in Jewish Studies, Israel Studies, Islam and Middle Eastern Studies, Music, and the General Humanities, with preference given to projects that make use of the National Library of Israel’s special collections.

Fellows divide their residency between the neighboring NLI and IIAS in Jerusalem, combining access to the Library’s collections and expertise with the academic environment and scholarly community of the IIAS. Residencies are available for five or ten months.
